On AdoptAGuy.com, men are the products and the women get to go shopping. Once they join, guys fill out their product profiles and put themselves on the shelves. Then, they have to wait patiently for a customer to add them to her cart, before they can start a conversation. Until then, they can't send any messages.

The women are customers who go shopping, and can choose men to put in their cart. Once he is in her cart, a guy is allowed to write to the customer.

Guys have a basic ration of 5 charms per day, which they can send to 5 different customers to get themselves noticed. To earn more charms, they have to invite their friends.

Adopting a guy and putting him in your cart is the same thing. "Adopt" just sounds gentler!

A man can only communicate with a woman if she has added him to her contacts. However, he can catch her attention by sending her a charm.

The stars let customers rate the guy according to different criteria. The customers rate the man.

Due to its original concept, AdoptAGuy.com is a place exclusively for encounters between women and men. A gay and lesbian version is currently under study. We welcome your ideas in support of this project.

For women: Go to "MESSAGES", then choose the "CART" tab and click on the "delete" link below the icon of the contact you want to delete.
For men: Go to the customer's profile, then click on "LEAVE HER CART"

Make sure you enter the same username (your email address) and the same password as when you signed up.

Click on "OK" on the login screen, then click on "forgot my password" on the page that appears, and follow the instructions.

The login allows you to connect with a username that is shorter than your email address.

You can choose your login at "MY ACCOUNT"

Go to "MY ACCOUNT" and select the tabs "MY ACCOUNT" and "MY LOGIN" to modify your personal information.

Click on "OK" on the login screen, then click on "forgot my password" on the page that appears, and follow the instructions.

Go to "MY ACCOUNT" and choose the tab "DELETE MY ACCOUNT", then click on "VALIDATE". Remember, deleting your account is permanent and irreversible.

The moderators may censor text that contains personal data, sexist, racist or xenophobic content, advertising for a product or another website, or any invitation to join a political group.

Our moderators work day and night to manage the huge volume of data we receive. It currently takes about 48 hours, but we are working hard to reduce this time. Please be patient a little longer!

There are certain rules to follow for the photos:
- The photo must be of you (no drawings, landscapes, animals, movie stars...)
- The photo must be clear, not blurry or with too many digital touch-ups
- The photo may not show more than one person
- No children (not even you as a child)
- No nudity or pornographic features (including no bare chests)
- No advertising and no personal data (address, email, phone number, website)
- No images of weapons, drugs or money

Go to "MY PAGE" and click on the pencil; you can then edit your profile and your photos.

Photos and descriptions need to be validated by our moderators. This takes about 48 hours. Also, a photo can't be uploaded if it is larger than 2MB or if its format is not recognized by the navigation software.

To change your profile photo, go to "MY PAGE" and click on the pencil. On the new page, you can upload other photos of yourself and choose the photo you want to use as your profile photo.

You may have used too many criteria. Try using fewer!

For men to write to you, you have to give them permission to write, or put them in your cart. Unless you do one of these things, they won't be able to write you at all.

For a customer to write you, she has to give you permission to write her, or add you to her cart.

Popularity points help measure how well-known you are. Popularity is calculated based on how many people have visited your profile, how many contacts you have, and how many emails you've exchanged.

For women: You lose points if you delete a man from your cart.
For men: You lose points if you leave a woman's cart.

The bonus is the number of people you have invited and who have joined the site.
